Admitted EDISS students are obliged to follow the country-specific requirements.
Applicants for the EDISS programme can already at the application stage upload attested documents according to the country-specific requirements to the online application form (recommended). Following the country-specific requirements is however not mandatory during the application stage even though recommended. Applicants should not ask their universities to send any documents to the EDISS programme office by regular mail at the application stage.
Electronic Transcripts
EDISS and Åbo Akademi University accepts official electronic transcripts (e-transcripts) from a few recognized sources listed below. The transcript must always be verifiable from the service.

If you have completed your degree in an African country, an official transcript of records must be submitted by mail to the EDISS programme office directly by the awarding institution; documents cannot be sent by the applicant. The transcript of records must be certified with an original stamp of the institution and an original signature of the certifying officer. Azerbaijan
If you have completed your degree in Azerbaijan, you must submit certified copies of the official government-granted degree certificate and transcript. The original documents must be verified with an apostille by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Copies of the apostille-verified documents must then be officially certified by a notary public. The copies must carry the notary public’s original stamp on each page and the signature of the certifying officer. Alternatively, the notary public can also use a unifying element, meaning that the pages are attached together in a way that certifies them all; in this case only one page must carry the notary public’s original stamp and the signature of the certifying officer.
If you have not yet graduated, you must submit a copy of your official transcript of records. The copy of the transcript of records must be officially certified by the awarding institution or legalized.
Bangladesh
If you have completed your degree in Bangladesh, you must submit the education documentation awarded by your university. Degree certificates and transcripts must always be awarded by the main university or a college that has a degree-awarding status. Educational documents granted by affiliated colleges will not be accepted.
The copies of the degree certificate and transcript of records must be officially certified (attested) by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, more specifically by the Consular and Welfare Wing. Each page of the transcript of records and the degree certificate must carry the original stamp and signature of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh. The attestation should be done onto a copy of the degree certificate and transcript, you do not need to submit the originals as the copies are attested by the Ministry.

Belarus
If you have completed your degree in Belarus, you must submit certified copies of the official government-granted degree certificate and transcript. The original documents must be verified with an apostille by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.

How to submit the verification reports:
Option 1: Share the verification reports directly from CSSD's online service by selecting Åbo Akademi University as the recipient. Use admission@abo.fi as the contact email address if required.
Option 2: Upload copies of your verification reports to your application form in Studyinfo.fi. The Admission Services will verify the authenticity of the report from CSSD.
Degree certificate in the original language
In addition, send a copy or scan of your degree certificate in the original language to the EDISS programme office. This copy does not need to be officially certified.
Finland
If you have completed your degree at one of the Finnish universities or universities of applied sciences, your degree was completed at the earliest on 1 January 2003, and you have a Finnish personal identification code, you do not need to submit your educational documents, as the EDISS programme office has electronic access to the required information.
If your degree was completed before 1 January 2003, or you do not have a Finnish personal identification code, you must submit your original educational documents to the EDISS programme.

An official transcript of records (consolidated), mark sheet or result card must be submitted to the EDISS programme directly from the awarding institution. The envelope must be sealed by the awarding institution’s official stamp across the back flap. Envelopes sealed with a generic stamp, such as one stating “sealed”, are not accepted. The document must come to the EDISS programme directly from the awarding institution.
Transcripts, mark sheets and result cards must be awarded either by the main university or a college (autonomous or affiliated). The official transcript of records must be certified with an original stamp and signature of a representative of the Academic Registrar's Office, the Examinations Office, or the equivalent office that issues official transcripts of records at the university.
If your university or college in India is unable to send the transcript, mark sheet or result card to the EDISS programme, please request that the attested documents must be placed in a sealed envelope with the awarding institution’s official stamp across the back flap. The original degree certificate and transcript of records must be certified (attested) by the Higher Education Commission (HEC, www.hec.gov.pk). Each page of the transcript of records and the degree certificate must be stamped and signed by the HEC. All copies submitted to the EDISS programme office must carry an original stamp by the HEC. Copies for HEC attested copies are not accepted.
Russia
If you have completed your degree in Russia, submit officially certified copies of the official government-granted degree certificate and transcript of records (приложение к диплому) to the EDISS programme office. To get the correctly certified copies of your educational documents, please take the following steps:
1. The original documents must be verified with an apostille by the authorized body of education of the Russian Federation in your region (Федеральная служба по надзору в сфере образования и науки (Рособрнадзор).
2. Have a notary public take officially certified copies of the apostille-verified original documents. The officially certified copies must include all pages of the original documents with any text/writing/stamps (including backsides with any text/writing/stamps). The copies must carry the notary public’s original stamp on each page and the signature of the certifying officer. Degree certificate
A copy of the original document must bear an official stamp and signature by an official that guarantees the copy’s authenticity. The document can be certified by an authorized university official at the university that has issued the diploma or a notary public.
Ukraine
If you have completed your degree in Ukraine, submit a copy of the official degree certificate and transcript of records to the EDISS programme office. To get the correctly certified copies of your educational documents, please take the following steps:
1. The original educational documents must be verified with an apostille by the Information and Image Centre (Інформаційно-іміджевий центр) of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (Міністерство освіти і науки України). Apostilles issued by other ministries or agencies are not accepted.
2. Have a notary public take officially certified copies of of the apostille-verified original documents. The officially certified copies must include all pages of the original documents with any text/writing/stamps (including backsides with any text/writing/stamps). The copies must carry the notary public’s original stamp on each page and the signature of the certifying officer. Alternatively, the notary public can also use a unifying element, meaning that the pages are attached together in a way that certifies all pages; in this case, only one page must carry the notary public’s original stamp and the signature of the certifying officer.
If you have not yet graduated, you must submit a copy of your official transcript of records. The copy of the transcript of records must be officially certified by the awarding institution or legalized.
United Kingdom
If you have completed your degree in the United Kingdom, an official transcript of records must be submitted to the EDISS programme office by the awarding institution in an envelope sealed with the awarding institution’s official stamp across the back flap, indicating that the envelope has not been opened.
