Admission

EDISS invites applications from international top students of all nationalities. The admission process is competitive and only the best applicants are selected. We encourage applicants of all gender to apply to EDISS.

EDISS 5th INTAKE (academic years 2025-27)

There will be eventually NO Erasmus Mundus (EMJM) scholarships available for intake 5 students. However, we will be able to offer 10 to 15 EDISS scholarships to our 5th intake students. The EDISS scholarships consist of a monthly grant of 300-700€ per month and a participation costs waiver for the entire duration of the EDISS  programme (24 months maximum).

Only if successfully selected in July 2025 for the Erasmus+ Mundus Joint Master programme grant, EDISS will be able to award Erasmus Mundus scholarships to student selected for the 5th EDISS intake. The EMJM grant is composed of a 1400 EUR per month scholarship and a participation costs waiver for the entire duration of the EDISS  programme (24 months maximum).

An application round for self-funded students will open 25 March 2025 at 8:00am Helsinki time to 31 March 2025 at 3:00pm Helsinki time. Enclosures can be updated in the submitted application until one week after the application round ends.

EDISS 4th INTAKE (academic years 2024-26)

For the fourth EDISS intake (academic years September 2024 – August 2026), two application rounds were organized:

  1. Round with Erasmus Mundus scholarships:

The application round with Erasmus Mundus and talent Boost scholarships is held from 1 November 2023 at 8:00am Helsinki time to 2 January 2024 at 3:00pm Helsinki time. Enclosures can be updated in a submitted application until 9 January 2024 at 3:00pm Helsinki time.

All the eligible applications that have been submitted by the application deadline with the required enclosures (in pdf and video format) will be considered in the student admission for the EDISS programme. Please also consult the evaluation criteria. Applicants will be informed of the selection results in early March 2024. We kindly ask applicants to carefully monitor the email that was used when submitting the application, and also to check their spam folder.

2) Round for self-funding applications

The next application period for self-paying student will open in spring 2024. The dates will be published soon. The last application round for self-funding students only will be held from 1 March 2024 at 8:00am Helsinki time to 11 March 2024 at 3:00pm Helsinki time. Enclosures can be updated in the submitted application until one week after the application round ends.

Accessing the application form:

The online application form will be available on the Studyinfo.fi portal when the application period for the second EDISS intake starts. It can be accessed by clicking the Studyinfo.fi picture below. Please note that the application form for the first and second application round start on different days.

Q&A Webinars about the 5th application period and review process will be arranged in autumn 2024. You can register here if you want to get a notification when the webinar dates will be published.

The EDISS programme office organised admission webinars on the previous application periods with Erasmus Mundus scholarships. In this webinar, the EDISS programme office answered any questions on the admission process / submitting the application. A recording of the webinars is available from our YouTube channel.

  2. Have a look at our admission requirements and pay special attention to our English language requirements. If a language test is required from you, you should schedule it in before the application period begins to ensure that you will have the result in time.
  3. Start collecting your application enclosures.
  4. Fill in and submit the online application. We will update the link for the application page shortly.
  5. Check your email regularly. If required, complete your application.
  6. Wait for the information on admission results.
